London Ghost Story (December 14th, 1848)
A Feast of Ghosts
The rest of the Children of Isaac (except for Mercedes) arrived at the feast around 10:30 P.M. (it began at 10 P.M.)
The Brujah elder Reginald Moore arrived at 11:25 P.M. with a retinue of 4 Brujah who took up positions near the Gangrel contingent. Chana noticed Henri Marron, one of Streck’s men, among them and arranged to have a private word with him, warning him not to cause problems for her.
Mercedes arrived at 11:30 P.M. wearing her dirty traveling clothes, covered in bloodstains from the night’s hunting and feeding.
At 1:05 A.M. Hortense Holden, Victoria Ash, and the Toreador contingent arrived, fashionably late. Victoria Ash mentions seeing many ghosts at the feast, including an “ugly brute” hovering near Count Dunlop. The Children of Isaac surreptitiously donned Japheth’s cloaks, and sensed many ghostly presences, though they cannot discern the one Vistoria saw by Count Dunlop. Chana went to talk with Count Dunlop a little; at the same time, Dunlop’s son Arthur slipped away from the feast.
Mercedes used Eyes of Chaos to sense a pattern – Count Dunlop was causing a distraction of some kind! The Children of Isaac went to warn Valerius, who just found evidence that Dunlop’s son Arthur had been murdering his retainers, perhaps to cause an incident that would give his father a casus belli against the Ventrue. Just as Valerius and his followers came to confront Count Dunlop and his followers, Mercedes used Voice of Madness to stir up even more trouble, and a massive fight broke out!
Chana invoked Obtenebration with The Darkness Within and Black Metamorphosis, thus invoking Rötschreck amidst the battle, while Gallo used Protean to become a wolf (and the other Gangrel who were not part of Count Dunlop’s retinue swiftly left the feast). It turned into a slaughter, and Chana Diablerized Count Dunlop, becoming a 6th generation vampire!
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city, Adrianna ran into Durga Syn, who said that she would be in town for the next few nights. Adrianna relayed this information to the other Children of Isaac, who sought her out the following night . . .
The Prophecy of the Feather (December 15th, 1848)
The Children of Isaac met with Durga Syn, who offered to read their fortune again. This time, she did not use the Blood Egg, as she did in 1444, but rather a feather, which put them into a trance in which they witnessed a strange and terrible future (that sounded to the players much like the 20th century), and Augustus Giovanni arising to rend the veil between the living and the dead . . . unless they can somehow prevent it.
Over the next few nights, the Children of Isaac made their preparations to wait out the years until the map they need appears in Lord Thomas Camden’s tomb. Chana visited Lady Katarina Astor, who felt vindicated by the outcome of events, and asked her to “Give ”/characters/lord-alexandre" class=“wiki-content-link”>Lord Alexandre her regards." Chana was planning to return to the Black Monastery to study about the Sargon Fragment and renew her Vinculum bonds. Knowing that they would be going to Egypt in a few years, Gallo headed there to learn about the country, with Rylan by his side. Adrianna made no definite plans.
After the chaos caused by Doctor Archibald Streck and Count Dunlop, the Camarilla cracked down on all known Sabbat in the city, vindicating Lady Katarina Astor’s predictions and position. The Conclave was held a few weeks later, and decided that Valerius would continue as Chamberlain for the time being. His power declined over the next few decades, and he stepped down in 1879. Lady Anne Bowesley became the new Chamberlain. The crackdown on Sabbat spreads and becomes continent-wide over the next decades, diminishing the status of Doctor Archibald Streck and his Brujah antitribu.
The Children of Isaac returned to London 34 years later to see what is revealed in Lord Thomas Camden’s tomb.
